CEBU, AUGUST 09 — The Rotaract Club of Cebu Fuente (RACCF) community-based club delivered hygiene kits to the SOS Children’s Village Cebu as part of “Project S.H.I.E.L.D.”
Led by Game-Changing President Ella Agwapa, each air-sealed kit contained items like bottles of rubbing alcohol, oral hygiene items, and among other materials that targets Rotary’s area of focus of disease prevention, hygiene, and water sanitation.
According to the organizers, “clean hands are safe hands, and children need to learn to wash their hands to stay healthy. It can be a blessing for children to have everything they need for personal hygiene: soap, clean water, hand sanitizers, tooth brushes and toothpaste — after all, these are essential items to practice self care.”
The initiative was a collaborative effort made possible through partnerships with RA clubs Freeport Zone (Subic Bay), club of Ibatan-Calbayog, club of Lucena South, club of Tagbilaran, and representatives of district 3860 also flew in from different islands to partake on this project.
In line with this year’s Rotary theme “Unite for Good,” the Rotaractors held these hand-washing demonstrations, games, and food distribution in continuing Project S.H.I.E.L.D., highlighting its area of focus towards effective levels of sanitation, health initiative, and disease prevention.
