BOGO, CEBU — In the spirit of Filipino bayanihan and the Rotaract motto of “service about self,” the Rotaract Club of Cebu Fuente - University of San Carlos (RACCF-USC) quickly responded, along with thousands of private organizations and individuals, at the earthquake that jolted Bogo, Cebu with a 6.9 magnitude last September 30, 2025.

Officers and members of the club came together the very next day donating goods and jumpstarting the first wave of the initiative—after dropping off the goods to the provincial capitol, the Rotaractors didn’t stop there—funds started flowing, and organization partnerships evolved for the greater good.

The first two weeks of October were heartwarming, as members continued to suggest remote locations as target beneficiaries and devoted their free time to packing goods within the school premises.

In an interview, Rtr. Isabela Basquez shared the motivation behind this earthquake response of the club, “It felt insensitive to just go on with life, and I was privileged to give back.”

RACCF-USC raised a total of 67,000 pesos for four rounds of drives, engaged over 30+ Rotaractors who took part in the initiative, and reached more than 5+ target beneficiaries.
